With 2026 looking to become a landmark year for the light rail, the work of the organisation responsible for driving enhancements to sector safety has been put under the spotlight by a leading industry magazine.
In an interview with Rail Director, the Chief Executive of the Light Rail Safety and Standards Board, Carl Williams, sets out how the organisation has already made a huge contribution towards reducing the risk of accidents and other hazardous events on UK tramways.
Now, following changes to its governance structure earlier this year, the LRSSB is entering a new era and is set to accelerate its evolution in line with the needs of the sector it serves.
