The organisation responsible for driving tramway safety standards has strengthened its management team with the appointment of a Head of Commercial Services.

A specialist in sales leadership with a proven track record in delivering sustainable revenue growth, Phil Hudson will be responsible for delivering a long-term commercial strategy at the Light Rail Safety and Standards Board.

With more than 20 years’ experience in sales and advertising, he joins the organisation from Communicorp UK, where he has held a series of senior positions within the company's network of commercial radio stations.

On the appointment, Carl Williams, LRSSB Chief Executive, commented: “Phil brings with him a wealth of commercial experience, and he’s set to play an important role in our continued growth.

“His expertise will help us to build new commercial partnerships in the UK and overseas that will complement the vital work we are already doing to reduce light rail safety risks.”

Born and raised in Newcastle, and a keen sports fan, Phil says he is ‘thrilled’ to join the LRSSB at an exciting time for the organisation as it looks to expand the scope of its operations.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Carl and the team in delivering our commercial strategy while building ever closer collaboration with both new and existing partners,” he added.
