A member of the LRSSB Board has been recognised at a prestigious awards ceremony for his contribution to light rail over many years.
At the recent Global Light Rail Awards, Colin Kerr was presented with a Special Judges Award, and the accolade couldn’t have been received at a more appropriate time as he recently announced his semi-retirement from a career that has seen him become a leading figure in the sector.
Currently the Head of Safety and Projects at Edinburgh Trams, Colin was nominated for the award after inspiring his team to new heights in the lead-up to the successful launch of Trams to Newhaven earlier this year.
His contribution to the wider light rail sector through his work with the LRSSB was also recognised at the awards ceremony in London.
Carl Williams, LRSSB Chief Executive, commented: “We’re delighted to see Colin receive this award; his expertise and wise advice have proved invaluable for our organisation. We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to him for all that he has done to help us enhance light rail safety.”
