The appointment of an experienced marketing professional has further strengthened the Light Rail Safety and Standards Board team.

Carly Swift joins the organisation with more than 17 years’ experience across a range of sectors, including public transport, retail and publishing.

No stranger to the LRSSB and light rail, she has already produced a series of safety animations for the organisation and provided graphic design services to a host of public transport operators.

Carly also has extensive experience in social media, and her skills will provide a boost for the organisation’s ambitions to further enhance communications with customers, decision-makers and other key stakeholders.

Carl Williams, LRSSB Chief Executive, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Carly to our growing team as we step up our support for the sector and build on the excellent work already done to make the nation’s tramways as safe as they can possibly be.

On her appointment, Carly said she was looking forward to the challenge of supporting the LRSSB in its vital work and will assist the organisation to grow a range of digital platforms, including its Safety Hub and Reference Library.

“In a digital age, effective communications are essential for the effectiveness of any organisation, and I’m committed to helping the LRSSB team get their messages out across the sector,”she added.
